| Description: | John Foster Dulles Gets Hero's Farewell In Washington, John Foster Dulles goes to his final rest with the highest honors in the power of the nation to bestow, and with the tributes of the world. Dignitaries from abroad include many of the world's leading statesmen including Adenauer and Gromyko. After services in Washington National Cathedral, Mr. Dulles is buried in Arlington National Cemetery among many great figures in the nation's history. A hero's farewell to a valiant champion of peace and freedom. Coffin draped with U.S. flag. Crowds make their way through a door with carving above it saying, "The Way of Peace." Ext. cathedral, with flag at half mast. People arriving at cathedral include the widow, Mrs. Dulles (?), and the leaders mentioned above. Press cameramen. Minister leads pallbearers. Integrated crowd. Coffin is brought to gravesite. President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Mamie (?), Vice President Richard Nixon and Pat (?) are seated. Military men fire guns in salute. Flag from coffin is folded and handed to Mrs. Dulles (?). Taps is played. Rows of gravestones in the cemetery. | |
