L/S crowds gathering outside Mr. Charlie Lee's butcher's shop in Birmingham. L/S pan from name above shop to a crowd of children waiting outside. GV. crowds waiting. C/U two ladies waiting. M/S taxi arriving outside the shop bringing Mr. and Mrs. Lee. M/S Mr. Lee surrounded by the crowd, a young boy flings his arms round his neck. C/U Mr. Lee surrounded by crowd. M/S Mrs. Lee in fur coat being helped through the crowd to the shop, she nearly passes out. M/S pan, meat porter carrying large side of meat on his shoulder from van to the shop. Interior: Mr. Lee's son holding back the crowd prior to opening the shop. C/U Mr. Lee with his white coat and bowler hat on smoking a cigar says 'Let 'em in'. C/U pan from meat being chopped by Mr. Lee to his face. M/S as he wraps the meat. M/S of Mr. Lee trying to give a piece of meat to a lady customer but she is more interested in adjusting her hat and posing for the press photographers, she flings her bag on the counter and Mr. Lee has to put the meat in it himself. C/U meat being wrapped and handed to customer. C/U Mr. Lee talking to gentleman customer. C/U two ladies at the counter, the elderly one on left of picture is pulling scarf tight around her neck by holding one end in her mouth and the other in her hand. M/S pan, Mr. Lee giving the above lady her joint of meat, she walks away with it. C/U Mr. Lee having a drink of brown ale from the bottle and turning to continue serving. M/S Mr. and Mrs. Lee and their son serving behind the counter, Mrs. Lee is wearing a smart black dress. C/U Mrs. Lee smiling. M/S pan as she hands meat to a young boy. M/S pan, meat being handed to a lady customer. C/U pan, dog walking away from shop with sausages in his mouth and eating them. Interior M/S Mr. Lee hanging a string of sausages round lady customer's neck as she has a go at cutting her own piece of meat, Mr. Lee's son looks on and camera pans to the meat she is hacking. C/U Mr. Lee kissing a lady customer. C/U of the lady smiling. C/U Mr. Lee with sausages hanging round his neck laughing and talking. | |
