| Description: | JOSEPHINE BAKER Josephine Baker sings a French song at a charity ball in Paris. "Most people have heard of the next artiste:- Josephine Baker. Here is a glimpse of the celebrated "Star" at the famous "Little White Beds" Charity Ball, Paris." Paris, France. L/S of cabaret star Josephine Baker standing on a platform at a ball and singing a song about Paris in French. She looks very glamorous with sleek hair and a spangled costume. Other performers stand either side of her and sing in reply to her. Baker in glamourous attire (sparkling) with back-up cast singing in French. Men in white safari outfits. At the end of the song Josephine takes a bow, then starts to waggle her hips as the music picks up tempo. She takes off her skirt (sparkling costume underneath) and hands her large earrings to another performer as if she is about to dance. Unfortunately, we cut to L/S of an old couple, watching from a box with some others and enjoying the entertainment. Cut back to Josephine, who is just finishing her dance and walks off as confetti falls from the ceiling. | |
