| Description: | JUST BUTTONS (aka BUTTON FACTORY) Nice footage of women and young girls working in a button factory. Good shots of old machinery & young workers. Shot looking down at factory floor where many women are working. CU young teenager operating machine which stamps buttons from sheets of plastic. She turns and smiles at camera. ECU girl's hand putting one of the little circles at a time onto a machine which spins it around, grinding it smooth and carving out a smaller circle indentation. CU at another machine: hand puts buttons in machine which punches holes in it. Tray in front, maybe for sorting out defectives? The worker holds out her hands w/ several buttons in each. CU part of another machine, a rotating wheel w/ places for button at end of each spoke. As wheel rotates, worker's hand puts buttons in, each button is gripped by 4 "arms" which open & close. CU a girl's hands holding buttons, one hand definitely has the rejects. Another person's hand reaches in and picks up a button out of the bunch which may be o.k., turns it back & forth. MCU girls sit at table sewing buttons onto cards in rows. CU sample buttons put on cards put together like a book; pages turn to show many different styles. A young boy dressed as a Pearly King.
