| Description: | This segment pertains to two insane kids who have planted themselves in front of the entrance at the county fairgrounds. It is a gray and windy day, they are huddled under a clear plastic tarp. You can only see one of the boys, for the reporter is blocking the view of the other. They want to be the first in line to get in. Why, asks the reporter as he is crouching down and holding the microphone through a small hole in the boys' tarp. "Well, first of all, so we can meet Governor J. Gilligan." What? What ten year old kid would camp out to meet the Governor? The boy goes on to say "...and to meet Victor Lucus, the fair manager, and ask him if he can escort us down to front row seats to see the Osmond Brothers". Ok, they have an ulterior motive. Camera pulls back to reveal the bigger picture of the scene. The entrance is a revolving steel gate that only moves in one direction, typical at fairgrounds. There is a second plastic tarp which is being used to shelter the kids' belongings. Reporter asks "Well if you get blown away, its not worth it, is it". The boy responds by listing off several natural disasters and then states "We're gonna stay". | |
