| Description: | Government; Egypt. Only information given is "Cairo; 1928." (Big event in that year was King Fuad dissolving Parliament and taking over control of the government in a coup.) Basically; consists of 3 different scenes of people coming out of buildings. In the first; a crowd of people come out door onto steps; cameramen are waiting at bottom of steps and a beautiful Daimler automobile is waiting in front. Crowd seems to be a mix of Egyptian and Anglo; incl a few women. Next men in fancy dress uniforms come down some steps; and another small crowd; of men in suits and fashionably dressed women; comes out of building to cheer from top of steps. Also notable is a cameraman; probably from one of the newsreels; w/ hand-cranked camera filming from bottom of steps. CU King (?) standing in doorway; others nearby. King etc. walk down steps to meet a man getting out of car; who then enters building w/ them. Royalty. | |
