| Description: | A freak of nature brings disaster to a small Quebec town when an underground river cuts an area 40 feet long, 1,000 feet wide. The earth gave way, engulfing houses and businesses, ruining the town's 2-century-old church and Bishop's Palace, and killing 3. Establishing shot - Looking at a town that was totally demolished with only a few building haphazardly standing, a man standing in silence trying to take in the scene. MLS/WA - Camera panning the little town of Nicolett nothing much left of the town. MCUS - A huge sink hole where buildings are at the bottom of it somehow surviving the drop and still managing to stand. CUS - Bishops Palace which is severely damaged and can never be repaired. OHMLS - Two people digging in the rubble and the roof of a car that is buried by the ton of dirt. Truly a freak of nature. Despite this amount of destruction only three persons lost their lives. | |
