| Description: | Las Vegas Tournament Of Champions Mike Souchak withstood a deadly challenge by Art Wall, Jr., to win the $46,620 Tournament of Champions in dramatic style at the Desert Inn Country Club, Las Vegas. Souchak, husky native of Durham, N.C. and Grossinger, N.Y., finished the tournament like a groggy fighter...But his five over par 77 and 72-hole total of 281 was enough to beat Wall by two strokes. It was the Pocono Manor, Pa., Art Wall, Jr., who won the Masters tournament at Augusta, Ga., three weeks ago. As second place winner of the Tournament of Champions he received $5,000. Several male golfers tee off. The crowd turns heads to watch the golf ball fly (several times). Good putts. Souchak (?) is congratulated. Press cameramen and photographers. Winner with oodles of coins running through his hands (VO implies they are silver dollars). | |
