| Description: | Scopitone of a ballad / doo-wop number by Italian comedy troupe Les Brutos featuring Aldo Maccione performing "My Prayer." Opens with MS attractive young blond man in black tuxedo (Aldo Maccionne) singing in white lighting studio; camera zoom out quickly to reveal four goons in orange-red suits and mussed hair singing backup, making clownish faces, running through comic schtick equally influenced by annoying -era Jerry Lewis and later period Three Stooges, while the Dion-esque Aldo Maccione gamely soldiers on. The goon squad "oh la-la, Frank Sinatra" each other, go cross-eyed, slap each other, stick their tongues out, contort their rubbery faces into expressions that would embarass Ace Ventura, etc. Break in mid-song segues into upbeat doo-wop portion. Great MS Les Brutos sans Aldo dancing, the camera tilting to an extreme sidelong angle. The Jerry Lewis influence in undeniable here. | |
