| Description: | This is a quick yet informative film about, well, honey bees. It opens with a nifty title card bearing the title against a flat navigational map of the entire planet, complete with gridlines, then cuts to a tight LS of honey farmers and beekeepers at work in a secluded, wooded area while a Mack truck idles behind them on a dirt road; note, there are big white boxes full of bees scattered about the field (there are also MS's of the boxes). Cut to MS's and CU's of various blossom flowers--sage, buckwheat and orange to name a few-- blowing in the windy wild. Tight LS of a beekeeper changing a hive shelf of a beebox; MS as well. CU's of bees moving on the hive. CU of three types of bees, presented third grade science style: a dead bee and a typed label beneath it telling what kind it is (queen, worker or drone), a honeycomb design behind them. ECU's and CU's of worker bees building combs; the queen being attended to by drone bees; entire colonies at work. MS of a beekeeper wearing no gloves and not much protection changing and inspecting hive shelves of a beebox; ECU of a queen bee in the beekeepers hand. | |
