| Description: | Same as catalog # 365701 Industry; labor. Film of lumber industry near New Hudson; Michigan; USA. Sort of a mini-documentary showing the different steps of work at the logging camp. Winter in the forest; 2 workers operate a double saw between them; felling a tree; which falls away from camera. They do the same with a 2nd tree ; it falls to right; in a big cloud of snow. Shot of 3 men hacking the branches off the trunk. Man using a forked stick to roll the trunk through snow and onto a "track" of 2 logs/ team of horses pull sled in BG. He rolls this log across the other 2 perpendicular ones; til it drops off and lands below on a pile of many logs on a sort of platform which is actually a big sled. Next we see team of horses approaching; pulling the sled of logs on a road through the forest. Back view of same; going past 2 men by a little shed. Timber; lumber; wood; transportation. | |
