| Description: | Cool shot from behind spotlight, looking downward at couples on dance floor. Nice shot of the band (leader is saxophone player Don Parker)on their small stage; silly trombone solo. Closer shot of dancers. MS Parker playing soprano sax; alto sax strapped to him. Shot from balcony looking over dance floor; ornate painted light fixture in FG. Chorus girls in backless leotards and short skirts dancing during floor show: shot w/ a few tables in FG. Same from above. Back to view from floor for rest of dance. Next, LS Barrie Oliver and Doreen Read enter singing, begin w/ slow movements, then break into a fast dance; bandstand behind them. Pulled back shot, w/ some tables in FG: Oliver & Read continue dance, incorporating splits, cartwheel, she slides through his legs and they skip off. Next, Oliver performs solo dance. (like tap dancing w/ acrobatics?). At one point he gets down on the floor, supported by his hands and toes (like push-ups) and jumps sideways across the floor in this position! Then he jumps back up, continues his dance w/ kicks and fast steps, finishes w/ a cartwheel. During Oliver's dance, other performers in an assortment of costumes, incl. several girls in identical platinum wigs and mini-dresses, who sit cross-legged on floor, watch from BG. | |
