| Description: | “‘London’s smartest’ ... (and that’s saying something!) Manchester Square Station win Motor Escape Championship for fourth time - doing all you see - in 1 min 24 1/5th secs.” London. Men of the London Fire Brigade (LFB) compete to see who can best use their firefighting equipment. A fire engine drives in to a yard. The mobile ladder is released from the back and the firemen run to set up their hoses and pumps. Firemen run up the ladder to affect a mock rescue from the fire tower. A fireman uses water from his hose to knock over a target. He then rushes up the ladder. Two firemen climb down the ladder carrying dummies as pretend fire victims. The final fireman lowers his dummy down on a rope. The winning team - from Manchester Square Fire Station - are presented with a trophy. The firefighters give three cheers for the Chairman of London County Council. | |
