| Description: | MAKE WAY FOR THE AMBULANCE - In Britain were accustomed to the speedy rush of ambulances for our great Hospitals. In Sweden, when winter still grips outlying districts there's a different tale to tell of how a case is handled. L/S's of stretcher bearers carrying a stretcher with a patient on it away from a small country bungalow. The patient is lifted onto the back of small cart which is towed away by a horse. L/S's of the the stretcher being placed onto a sledge and being pulled across a frozen lake. From their it is transferred to a motorboat and then back to a sledge. "Testing every yard of progress." L/S of man walking on the ice several yards ahead of the main stretcher bearing party, he thrusts a pole into the ice in front of him to check for weaknesses. L/S of the patient being transferred to a rowing boat. L/S of the rowing boat moving away. L/S of patient being lifted from a rowing boat at the quayside and finally being lifted into the back of an ambulance. L/S of the ambulance driving away. | |
