| Description: | MAKING A RECORD How a gramophone record is made - the various processes. United States MS fat woman singing into a long trumpet thing; band musicians grouped closely behind. MCU young man holding wax impression of record. He brushes graphite on it. MS he hangs it by one of many hooks, into a tub. Later.....he takes it out- -it now looks like a white disc- -titles say metal shell has now formed. MCU he takes the metal from the wax impression. MS another worker hanging the metal disc in another tub --a nickel bath. MS machine operator placing steel backing on the master. MS worker picks up armful of weird sausagy looking rubbery stuff and dumps it into machine with big turning rollers which flatten the stuff out. MS worker grabbing flat piece of this stuff out of machine. MS worker places this on conveyor belt. MCU worker putting some of this substance on master, fitting other master over it. MS worker turns and puts this into pressing machine. CU his hand throws lever. MS he removes it from machine; then he takes the record out from the masters.
