Kyoto, Japan Actors and crew hanging out in movie studio while lighting guys make adjustments etc. Pan on set: Japanese actor sits on cushion w/ 7-8 actresses sitting around him; all have traditional kimonos. Back view of camera crew on dolly rolling away. Next, looks like end of a choreographed fight scene. Another view of the actors/actresses sitting cross-legged. Wide shot, w/ cameraman filming in left FG; then pan rt - looks like they are filming a play - the actors mentioned before are in back of room on a very low stage, and a bunch of men in identical costumes sit in rows facing them. MS cameraman filming; 2 crew members hold 2 panels in front of camera and pull them apart to reveal the set. Crew pushes cameraman on dolly back. Back view of same; rolling back on a track on the floor. MCU Actor applying make-up, looking in diamond-shaped hand mirror; others actors crowd around him. CU same; other guys lighting cigarettes, looking in hand mirror, etc. MS dressers helping star w/ samurai costume & props. MS actress stands smiling while dressers finish tying her into her kimono. MS row of actresses kneel on cushions before mirrors. MCU looking over actress' shoulder at mirror as she fixes her hair. MCU actor putting on sandals; pan up to his face, he is talking. On the lot, outdoors, a row of actors dressed as warriors come walking past a couple saddled horses, a group of children, etc.; pan left w/ the soldiers or Samurai, then they walk away down street, one guy turning to make a face at Pathe camera.
