| Description: | MANS TRAP A man trap is shown - it is two centuries old but still works - two others are also demonstrated. Ferocious traps used in earlier centuries to catch and maim trespassers on private property. United Kingdom In woods w/ sun shining through trees, 2 men enter. They put a metal trap on the ground and set it. They exit, but one returns and spreads dead leaves over trap to hide it. But then the same guy enters from behind bushes at rt., now carrying a big stick. He holds the stick over the hidden trap, brings it down as if the stick is stepping on the trap, and the jaws of the trap snap shut on the stick. He liflts stick w/ trap now stuck on it. CU trap back on ground, still holding stick; man steps on side to release pressure, pries jaws open and removes stick. MLS man concealing a trap in another area of grounds. MCU poking at leaves w/ stick; trap snaps closed. Man pulls stick w/ trap on it toward camera so it can be seen. This is a different trap and has fiercer teeth, some are c. 2 inch long spikes. He jiggles stick back and forth as if trying to pull it out, w/ no luck. CU trap set, this time uncovered. Stick "steps" on it and gets caught again. Next, man releasing trap which is closed but this time has nothing in it. He re-sets trap, taps it a few times w/ a very small stick; trap snaps shut again. (That last bit was apparently to show the trap's sensitivity.) CU secure lock box. Man inserts key in hole in top center of box, turns key and opens lid. The inside of the lid is a bunch of metal mechanisms. The man seems to be turning the key on the other side of the lid, causing a lot of the parts to move around. He then pushes a few of the parts w/ his fingers. | |
