A group of African American women singing 'Negro Spirituals' and wearing long white gowns wade out to a raft on the Potomac River. A choir is singing and a large crowd is watching. Just in front of the raft (which is decorated with the Stars and Stripes flag) the women are given a full body baptism. One of the women goes into some kind of spiritual rapture or fit upon being baptised. | |
