| Description: | May's last May Queen. Whole town en fete to greet pretty Joyce Payne. Llandudno, Wales. Low angled shot of a carnival float, a man dressed in Regency costume helps a little girl onto a chair. She carries a bourquet and wears a long white cloak, that the man has to drape over the back of the chair. Various C/Us of the angelic looking little girl smiling at the camera - the May Queen. Panning shot follows the float as it drives down a crowd lined street. "Not forgotten!" M/S of the horse drawn float coming to a standstill. The May Queen is helped off the float. She walks towards a war memorial, two boys dressed as pages hold her cloak, another carries a wreath. The May Queen and her attendants lay the wreath on the memorial, a policeman waves back a crowd that is blocking the procession's way. "Mr. Lloyd George - now much in the public eye - crowned her". M/S of David Lloyd George, leader of the Liberal Party, places a floral crown on the May Queen's head. He kisses her hand and laughs at the camera. | |
