Scarecrow has large strip of shiny foil around middle of its shirt; and a head that's just sort of a bag. Walcot, Lincolnshire. M/S Roy Rothery's son, Chris, starting up mechanical scarecrow at Walcot. He is bending over the invention; doing some minor mechanical work. C/U Chris tinkering with the scarecrow, pan down to show him preparing to start it. Then he pulls the chain on the lawnmower motor that provides the power. M/S as he pulls cord and mechanical scarecrow starts, he walks round the other side of it to release brake. C/U of his hand releasing brake and scarecrow moving off. The contraption takes off like some demented monster joy-rider; heading across the field. M/S as Chris walks over to talk to Roy Rothery who is the inventor. C/U Roy. Various shots scarecrow going round in field. Shot of the crazy scarecrow-on-wheels. It will go all day long in a circle around the field. | |
