Beauty contest in Margate - exercising, posing, parading by the pool etc. Margate, Kent WS swimming pool at Margate; a woman stands up on the diving platform, bends over gracefully to touch her toes; crowd hanging out on poolside. MLS tilt up the woman on platform; a man stands behind her (he looks like he could use some exercise himself!) and pulls her up by the belt around her swimsuit. Next he places his hands on her back while she performs a squat. MS 4 girls sitting in the sun. WS of pool & platform. MLS the chubby trainer assists another woman in squatting; others wait on platform behind. CU side view of smiling girls in bathing suits. Back to WS, then MLS this time the girl not only does the toe-touch and squat routine, but also a sort of arabesque at the end. MCU people sitting on bench - 2 girls dressed almost identically in skirts, tank tops, berets. Man in FG lighting cigarette. MLS panning on crowd of women in bathing suits waving to camera. Nice shot w/ top of slide in FG; a woman slides down as another arrives at the top step; crowd below in BG, sitting on bleachers and walking on edge of pool. WS looking across pool; 3 kids on raft in center. LS crowd sitting on benches. Another WS looking across pool, with lots of people in water; at left some are playing with a gigantic ball; crowd across pool w/ building behind them. LS bathing beauties lined up along poolside for beauty contest. Closer shot looking from one end of the line. MCU pan up women's bodies from hips up; each has a number pinned to the neck of her swimsuit. MS women in the contest parade along poolside, walking past camera. MS shapely girl winning prize of a portable phonograph. MS another girl being given an unidentified prize. LS girls parading along side of pool; the one with the phonograph comes first, followed by the rest who all seem to have the other prize. CU's of 3 girls. MCU the 3 winners pose together. | |
