| Description: | Miami Beach Vacation. Looks like 1940s home movies, handheld, speed slightly faster than real time. Exterior, lettering on building says "The Shoremede." Smiling white man in U.S. Navy (or perhaps Coast Guard?) blue uniform walks toward camera outside Shoremede Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida; his uniform has two white stripes on the lower sleeves (Seaman Apprentice?). MS plaque on building reads "The Shoremede Hotel." TLS young white woman sits shaded by umbrella on outdoor patio, reading (relaxation, vacation); she looks up and says something. Panning exterior hotel/resort yard, with tables sheltered by umbrellas, palm trees, etc.; pan ends at the front of the Hotel Claridge; these are very nice (luxury?) accommodations in Miami Beach. MS outdoor table & chairs under umbrella, patio furniture. View of tables inside sunny room, like casual dining area; the tables have red white & blue tablecloths and are empty. Slightly dark view of couple (man & woman) sitting at a table. Now, to the beach! MS African American woman, wearing sunglasses, watching over little blond white girl who carries a bucket of sand; the woman (presumably a nanny/ babysitter) walks toward camera, smiles. [Race relations, servant, domestic help.] High angle MSs child playing in the sand, wearing a dress, grinning happily. White woman with graying hair sits in beach chair, reading a book that says "Spanish..."; a beach umbrella, sand and water are in the background. She smiles up at camera, reaches out her arm in a gesture; a young boy (grandson?) walks in from offscreen and she squeezes him. Pony rides. Panning MSs young white boy, then little blond girl, riding small ponies. Est. shot beach umbrellas and people in front of palm trees and hotel. White man in suit jacket is present. Low angle views of planes flying overhead against blue sky (the planes look quite small from here). LS pretty brunette woman, wearing a cardigan sweater over her pink swimsuit with short frilly skirt, stands and fiddles with something; palm trees behind her. (Her long legs seem to be a possible focus, but maybe that's just the angle.) CU young freckled white man, smiling; he's sitting in a beach chair, dressed for the event in a casual striped shirt and a light-colored hat; he looks Irish to me, and like a character. CUs shirtless young white boys at beach. Panning MS older woman and man sitting demurely at outdoor table under umbrella.
