We see several shots of modern architecture - mostly residential blocks of flats and rows of houses, but we also see the new fruit and vegetable market, which looks like an office block with a Nazi swastika flag flying from the top. A man gets into one of the constantly moving lifts inside this building. We then see an old man making a model of the old town of Frankfurt because of "the eventual possibility of the ancient town disappearing". (During this sequence we hear the commentator turning the pages of his script!) The same craftsman is seen taking a pipe from his collection hanging up behind him and lighting it.
