| Description: | 'There are few men, or women, who are not touched by the sweet, pure voice of a talented child singer. Here is dainty MILLICENT PHILLIPS - a young 10-year-old Midland prodigy, singing a song known to us all.' London. Various shots of curly-haired 10-year-old Millicent Phillips, wearing a maribou-trimmed satin dress (and quite a lot of make-up!) and singing a song about a 'Little Brown Owl'. Although she is rather precocious, I have to admit that Millicent does have a pretty voice - very high and dainty - and is quite expressive in her singing. Two model owls in a model tree in the studio flash their eyes at appropriate times during the song. Note: there is a news cutting on file about Millicent wowing the judges of the Cheltenham Music Festival and being declared "a little genius" - only to be disqualified on account of her age because she was entered in a class of 12 to 15 year olds. | |
