Description:MODEL SWIM HATS, PAST AND PRESENT A comparison between the frumpy swimwear of the past and the flamboyant fashions of the future! Fashion show comparing old fashioned swimwear with modern fashions for swimming hats.

Aldwych, London.

C/U of the doorway of a bathing cart. The top half of the door is open. A model dressed in a Victorian bathing suit and frilly cap pops her head up. Tilt down the swimsuit to reveal the large bloomers. M/S of the Waldorf Hotel's Adelphi Room. Smartly dressed women are sitting around tables reading brochures. In a space in the centre of the room is the bathing cart. Behind the cart is a backdrop painted with seaside scenery. Standing to one side of the cart is the fashion show compere dressed in a straw boater and striped blazer. The model comes out of the cart and twirls around in front of the audience before exiting. C/U of a smiley sun on the backdrop. Panning shot to another model standing in the doorway to the cart. She is dressed in a twenties bathing suit and an orange cap. Panning shot follows the model out of the cart and to the centre of the room where she spins around. The narrator draws our attention to the design of the cap. The design has not changed for years - until now, that is! According to the narrator "designer, Kleinerts has elevated them to high fashion." C/U of a woman in the audience. M/S of a third model, coming out of the cart. She is dressed in a blue mackintosh and carries an umbrella. On her head, she is wearing a blue swimming cap which is decorated with white buttons and a lovely big bow at the back. The narrator explains that these caps are so well designed they can be worn on a rainy day with a mackintosh. The model wanders around the centre of the room posing for the audience before exiting. C/U of two women in the audience. M/S of the compere helping two models - a woman and a small girl out of the cart. They are both wearing white towelling robes and a style of cap named 'Bubbles'. C/U of the little girl, Jane Lee, blowing bubbles. She is wearing a cap that is, unsurprisingly, decorated with bubbles. C/U of the adult model, Fay Brook, wearing a similar cap. She pouts provocatively and blows at the bubbles as the float past. C/U of two cartoon donkeys on the backdrop. Panning shot to the bare legs of a model, Elizabeth Duke, coming down the steps of the cart. She is dressed in a blue strapless bathing suit. On her head she is wearing the 'coronet model' - a white cap with an golden crown sticking out of the top. C/U of the models head as she turns slowly to display the crown. C/U of two women in the audience. C/U of a model wearing a futuristic black bathing cap. She is bowing her head to display the three long red antennae attached to the cap. Tilt up to display the tips of the antennae which appear to have small light bulbs attached. M/S of the model. She is wearing a long black cloak decorated with a glittery question mark. The narrator explains that they cannot display the costume to accompany the cap of the future because it has not been invented yet. M/S of women in the audience. M/S of the futuristic model exiting.
