| Description: | MORE LINES - WE WENT TO MARGATE FOR THESE Beauty contest by a pool-side in Margate. Leslie Fuller is one of the judges. Margate, Kent LS tilt down bathing beauties parade in a line past crowded bleachers along the edge of pool at Margate. MCU section of audience, in FG 2 teenage boys, one skeptical, one grinning, sit on either side of sour-faced woman; more middle class people. Closer tilt down shot of the girls in swingsuits walking around corner of pool. LS 2 boys paddling boat around in sea. MS tilt down: the boys in their boat; which is shaped rather like a kayak, has a mast but sail is down. Title says they have rowed all the way from Amsterdam. MS tilt down: girls walking around pool, now with numbers pinned on their swimsuits. MCU pan on pretty girl - one of very few with long hair - looking up at camera as she walks by. MLS the contestants lined up around curve in pool, all raise their arms straight up. MCU the same section of crowd seen before. LS tilt down the young women rise up on tiptoe slowly squat (still balancing on the balls of their feet) and stand up again. MS women pose facing right, each with right leg raised at rt. angle and bent at knee, and left arm held up, hand on shoulder of woman in front. For the next part of the contest, each contestant is apparently supposed to do calisthenics with one of a pair of fitness instructors - one male, one female. MLS Man and Contestant Number "1" do "windmill" toe touches in unison; behind them, standing around edge of pool, are other men and women in swimsuits and a few fully dressed in street clothing. MS woman from waist down continuing the exercises. MS crowd applauding - people in swimsuits, including some of the contestants with numbers on them. MLS girl number 2 (the one with long hair) does more of the criss-cross toe-touches in unison with the woman exercise expert. MCU Miss #2 with arms held out to sides, smiling. MLS comedian Leslie Fuller, in seater and trousers, with beret, does squats with contestants 1, 2 & 3. He shakes around as if losing his balance and finally falls down on his behind. He gets up and walks off, waving his hand like forget this and rubbing the injured part of himself. | |
