| Description: | MOSAIC SCULPTURE Sculptor Theo Crosby working on mosaics at his studio Hammersmith, London. M/Ss of sculptor Theo Crosby working on mosaic sculptures in his studio in Hammersmith, London. He is sitting at a workbench and in front of him is a large white plaster shape that he is embedding bits of coloured glass or plastic in. Around him are various white plaster figures, some with pieces of glass in mosaic designs. He selects a piece of red coloured glass, then C/U as we see him cut a piece off with a knife, and add it to the sculpture with plaster. He selects more pieces of glass and adds them in the same way. M/S as he picks up the sculpture to look at it. It is an oblong relief shape of plaster, with pieces of red, green and blue glass in various shapes and sizes attached. He turns it slightly to the left and the right so the glass catches the light. C/U pan as we see him polishing a few of the glass pieces with a cloth, then M/S as he clears excess plaster from the corners of glass. C/U of the base of another mosaic sculpture, tilt up to show the top of it, which is the head of the figure. M/S of an exhibition space (possibly at the Institute of Contemporary Arts) with two of TC's mosaic sculptures on display; one is a standing figure with arms crossed ('Bachelor Mark II'), the other is a seated figure with arms outstretched ('Sitting Woman'). A man, Ken Winslow, wearing glasses, is looking from a leaflet to the seated figure and takes off his glasses to examine it more closely. C/U of him looking at the head, then extreme C/U of the coloured glass mosaic work, tilt up to show the head of the figure. C/U of the head of the standing figure, tilt down to show mosaic work around the torso. Various C/Us of coloured glass mosaic on plaster, then C/U of a mask sculpture mounted on a wall. | |
