He speaks and says he was made the Chairman of the London Conference and proposes to discuss various proposals with Egyptian Government. Says he cannot say how the talks will work out, can only say they will do their best. He is asked by interviewer whether by reports from Egypt he thinks Nasser has had any change of heart on the Suez problem, he replies he has heard of no such report. He states that the world is in quite a dangerous position over the Canal problem, and that we are not playing some sort of game. He states that if the discussions fail, he will firstly come back here to report, and then go home to Australia. | |
