| Description: | 00:09:57:- MS of several people sitting on barstools in a small room off of the lobby of the Capri Hotel. One man plays a guitar while the others sing and/or play percussion. Pan L to tables at which several others do the same. MS of an older woman dancing in the middle of the room; a young man playing plastic maracas joins her merriment. CU of a guitarist doing a solo piece, part classical and part folk ballad; good shots of the fretboard, his fingers, the soundhole, his face, etc. 00:13:55:- MS of the guitarist again as he strikes up a new tune, nearly as sorrowful as the last. Zoom in to CU of his fingers on the fretboard. Pan left to CU of a woman as she starts to sing, "Black Tears". The guitarist, Jose, joins in and a few bars later the song shifts into a tight little mambo. Cut to CU of Jose talking to the camera about some of his favorite singers, then being coerced into a rendition of "Don't Go Changing" which is pretty good. Cut to CU of Jose talking about music (NEEDS TRANSLATION AS IT IS IN SPANISH). 00:23:27:- CU interview of the female singer (NEEDS TRANSLATION AS IT IS IN SPANISH). Cut to CU of Jose talking about music again (NEEDS TRANSLATION AS IT IS IN SPANISH). CU's of the two as they run through "Son de la Loma" , a poppy, traditional Cuban folk song. | |
