Hurricane Gracie slashes in from the sea to batter Charleston, South Carolina, and carve a 100-mile swathe of destruction across the state. Waves crash onto shore; flooding, wind and rain, downed trees. POV from inside car, driving through flooded street, windshield wiper flapping. Aftermath damage. To the west, Denver is hit by a freakishly early and heavy snowstorm, with as much as two feet falling in some areas, to blanket the town, snarl transportation, and keep the kids home from school. Snow on trees with full foliage. Children have snowball fight, build something out of snow in front yard of house -- quaint 1950s suburban life. | |
