LS MS Mercury at anchor. CU Bows of Mercury taken from a boat. The boat moves round the front of ship until figurehead moves into large CU Camera pans down to show water line of the ship. CU Young boy in bed asleep. Camera pans up to show young sailor standing at side of bed. He raises bugle to his lips and begins to play. MS The boys' sleeping quarters. The sailor with bugle is in background. The boys begin to climb out of hammocks. The bugler finishes call and puts bugle down by his side. MS Boys' word room showing small-scale model of yacht and also small scale model of bows of ship. In the middle is instructor Mr. Pittock. He is speaking to boys who are working on bows of ship. The anchor is bows of ship begins to fall. CU Bows of ship. The anchor is falling down. Camera pans immediately up to show a young pupil working on the anchor. CU of the anchor chain on top of the model. Pupil secures it to the deck. The camera pans up to show CU of the pupil. CU of the sails of the small-scale yacht. Pupil is visible between them. The sails fall apart to reveal Mr. Pittock standing at his side. Another young pupil moves into the picture helping to pull apart the sails. CU of the helm of another small-scale model. A boy is twisting helm around. Camera pans across to show the compass. MS of the same scene. The helm is being turned by a boy under instruction and the model moves round. MS Two pupils working on a large compass. The camera pans left to show another pupil using a sextant. CU of some kind of recording machine. A pupil is using it. He begins to pull a roll of paper out of the machine. CU Pupil working machine. CU Pupil and machine again as he closes lid over it. MS Exterior of boat. One is on the roof and one is suspended over the side painting. MS on board launch. Two officers are standing on deck. A young cadet standing on deck is in centre of helm. Another is in the stern of the ship. The officer on right is the commander. CU of the commander. The camera pans off his to show young pupil and other officer. MS Looking towards the prow of the launch as it pulls into the side of the Mercury. The cadet in the bows raises his stick and salutes. He lowers it again. MS Stern of Mercury taken from boat. On the stern can be seen the name Mercury. CU of the ladder on side of Mercury as Commander disembarks. He turns round to salute the launch and then proceeds upstairs. He salutes the officer who is waiting on top of stairs. He then stands inside the doorway. CU Young pupil with bosun's whistle piping the commander aboard. MS Doorway showing the commander standing and saluting and three pupils pipe them aboard. The officer stops saluting and walks aboard followed by the other officer. MS Below deck showing the pupils at fire drill. The commander walks in from left of picture and begins to inspect fire appliances. MS Looking through port- hole at yachting scene. Large gun is in foreground pointing out of porthole. MS Four pupils at work on gun. One of them swings the breach open and looks into the barrel. CU Behind a pupil looking into the barrel. He moves his head away and we see for a very short instant a ring of light at the top of the barrel before the breach is closed again. MS Pupils around gun as the breach is closed. CU Looking through porthole at yachting scene with gun in foreground. GV Of yachts sailing taken from aboard the ship. MS Yacht as it sails around the front of camera. MS Yachts sailing around the Mercury. MS Yachts sailing towards. camera two pupils in it. MS Yachts sailing round Mercury. MS Cadets on land doing P.T. exercises. Camera pans right to show flags being hoisted up a mast with cadets standing on rope ladders all the way up to the top of the mast. CU Top of the mast showing flags and cadets. GV Parade ground with cadets on parade. MS Drum Major as he walks forward and salutes. The commander walks into the picture and returns the salute.
