MSs crowd being held behind metal barrier, night, one old man being handed a bottle of beer from guard while another old woman smokes cigarette. LS illuminated clock in the distance, midnight. LS Spandau prison gates, night; TLS gates opening, two Mercedes sedans driving from prison, by camera. Press conference: chaos as BALDUR VON SCHIRACH -- dressed in turtleneck and sportcoat-- is helped to a chair, sits down, answers questions of press while fondling monacle. MS Baldur von Schirach being led down hallway, by elevators. More press conference: TLS chaotic, crowded room, Speer standing up. MS two reporters standing on chair, one taking a light reading. Traveling shot of Baldur von Schirach walking down hall, into elevator, gaggle of reporters following suit, pressing w/ more questions. CU lighted elevator indicator showing climb to 8th floor. MS sign: "Hotel Gehrhus." MS ceiling lamp hanging from ceiling, tilt down to reporters entering building, night. MS Nazi war criminal ALBERT SPEER getting out of car, walks with wife through crowd of reporters and up steps. Press conference: MS/CUs Albert Speer and wife standing in paneled room behind embankment of microphones, surrounded by press. MSs newsreel cameramen filming, peering through funky-looking cameras. Various shots chaotic press conference. Albert Speer leaves press conference, climbing up stairs beside mirrored wall. Panning MS Scottish regiment in dress uniforms marching in formation behind man wearing kilt and playing bagpipes; they turn corner, march towards main gate of Spandau prison. LS soldiers entering gate. TLS clock on front of building (noon). TLS French guard with rifles shoulderbound approaching front gate, entering; Scottish soldiers stand at attention in courtyard. Quick MS gates closing. TLS two Scottish soldiers & French officer in guard tower with spotlights on ledge; tilt down to sign in both English and German-- "It is forbidden to take photographs of or to enter this area w/out authorization." TLS Scottish soldiiers exiting through Spandau gate, led by man in kilt; they come out & make dramatic halt.
