| Description: | "Twenty minutes after three." Nelson on his death bed. An officer comes to give a report. Nelson is told of his victory "Your victory is assured, Sir. Fifteen of the enemy's ships have already struck their colours." "It is well --- but I bargined for twenty Hardy -- I bargained for twenty." Nelson gasps for breath. He is near death "Kiss me Hardy." " - and Hardy, don't throw me overboard." He kisses his cheek and bows his head. Hardy leaves, the battle continues. "Half after four." Men tend to Nelson. Other injured sailors are laid near him. Nelson dies saying "Thank God - I have done my Duty." "Though more than a century has passed since Nelson died, the spirit he bequeathed lives on." THE END. | |
