| Description: | NET A THIEF DEVICE FOR CATCHING CROOKS Colin Brown demonstrates his own invention for catching thieves in the street. A new invention to fight crime by catching thieves in net which is shot out of a "gun". London Colin Brown, inventor of the device, walks towards camera and fires the trigger on a gun-like instrument. Shot of man on sidewalk holding this device by a handle and removing outside cover. (Invention looks like four microphones with something wadded up between them.) ECU Trigger on device; man pulls trigger. This releases a huge nylon net that covers the camera. Man down the street with the invention puts it into action - four weights attached to corners of net fly forward, spreading out toward the camera. M/S of 'Post Office' sign over a building. Robbery in action. Criminal running out of door and down sidewalk carrying bag. (Commentator says he's stolen some 5 penny stamps.) Middle-aged man steps out of another door; carrying the thief-netter. CU front view of the "weapon". GV Man activates invention, sending net flying over the thief and entangling him. Man is completely trapped. He tries to escape. CU pan from feet up on the robber struggling in the net in a very silly and hilarious way. He seems to give up and allow himself to be taken in by the Colin. | |
