| Description: | In the national A.A.U. Championships in California, Charlie Pratt puts on a terrific display of skill and stamina in ten grueling events to win the title. Highlights of the AAU Decathlon Championship at Kingsburg, California. Ten grueling events its one of the toughest meets of all time. MS - The 110 meter high hurdles. The winner of the event is Bob Lawson, student at U of C. MS - Sport fans sitting in the bleachers. MS - 100 meter dash and the winner is Charlie Pratt, sparkling time of 10 and 4 - 10th seconds. MCUS - Lawson and Pratt shaking hands, Lawson is the one on the right. MCUS - Broad jump, Dick Lubic of the Army, Bob Ward of the Marines, MS - The High Jump - Pratt tied for third place, he makes the jump and clears the bar, he's running up the points. Lawson with a head first dive ties for 1st Place with Dave Edstrom of Oregon. CUS - Sports fans clapping. MS - Pole Vault. MCUS - Lawson looses grounds in the Discus coming in eight. Pratt with the Discus he comes in 13th. MCUS - After all the scores are added up. Pratt comes in first and receives the trophy as he stands on the podium. Second is Dave Edstrom from the University of Oregon and third place goes to Bob Lawson of Aberdeen, Washington. | |
