VS from the sea and from the air of the new bridge that replaces the ferry, the bridge is five kilometres long and is built of concrete with a succession of arches from one platform to the next. VS. from road and from the air of the convoy of vehicles including the bus carrying Queen Juliana of Holland travelling along the bridge and halting at the centre at the point where the final section is to be lowered into place. VS. of Queen Juliana performing the opening ceremony, she enters the control building and starts the mechanism that automatically lowers the twin spans of the central bridge thereby completing the road link.
