| Description: | NEWS IN A NUTSHELL Carp for Christmas dinner in Czechoslovakia. Whole community gets involved brining in fishing nets full of carp. Various shots of men wading through mud of river bank. As a team, they pull a large fishing net out of the river / lake. C/U of lots of fish wriggling about in net as it is brought to the surface. Once the net is near surface of shallow water, men use smaller nets to transfer the fish into large metal vats. The fish are then put into sacks and weighed. Women in traditional headscarves carry the sacks of fish to a waiting cart. C/U of man holding an enormous carp. The operation to catch the fish appears to involve the whole community. | |
