They go into the house they share together as commentator tells us today is their day off. The next morning we see the two women sitting up in their twin beds, being served breakfast by their maid. Apparently, Matron Burland thinks that happy nurses speed the recovery of patients. The girls are each brought a newspaper by their maid. They get into their uniforms, pin their hats on. They crowd round their dressing table to comb their hair and put on lipstick as we are told make-up is not frowned upon at their hospital. | |
