| Description: | ODD, BUT IT CUTS WOOD EVEN A travelling saw mill comes right to people's homes to cut their wood for them. United States Truck backs down a road (or driveway?), pushing behind it the mobile sawmill - looks like a flatbed truck except that it angles upward toward the rear, and has chains looping down below it. The truck backs up beside a woodpile in the yard next to a small frame house. LS tilt down at woodpile, truck, 2 men standing there; now that one can see the top of the machine, can see that it is divided lengthwise into a few strips w/ loops of chain also going lengthwise, and has circular saws spinning between the long strips. Man loads logs onto the bottom end, propped against bricks or blocks attached to the chains at intervals. As the chain moves the logs are pushed upward to the blades which cut through them. The sawed wood than drops off the top end. | |
