| Description: | Disasters. Industrial fire; c. 1910s. Extremely violent & intense oil fire. Opens w/ "great balls of fire" billowing up from behind a wide squat cylinder. Shot with the rolling smoke & flames covering entire screen- -very impressive; unfortunately the film is very battered here and goes way out of wack. Next; shot some distance away from fire: large brick building at rt.; low buildings at left; above the latter huge clouds of smoke seen rising into sky. Fire coming from a tank; w/ sort of ditch in FG. Spilled oil burning in ditch. Close shot of white-hot; melted; misshapen tank w/ masses of smoke & flames coming from it; pan rt showing more burning tanks. Another close shot of burning tank. Dangerous; scary; destruction; oil refinery; industry. | |
