| Description: | MSs details of an old abandoned Russian restaurant in the Malecon area of Havana, Cuba. (This is almost blatantly symbolic of the effect in Cuba of the demise of the USSR!) A two story stone facade, falling apart, no glass in windows. Almost looks bombed-out, all the twisted iron and stone rubble. Establishing TLS (great DOF) of the nearly block-long building. MS of the engraved sign hanging over the vestibule, reads, "Restaurante Moscow" in rusted iron. MS of an overflowing garbage bin in an alley behind the building. MS of a middle-aged woman walking by a series of overflowing dumpsters. Cut to another EST TLS of the abandoned restaurant, from a brightly lit 3/4 view as people walk by. CU graffitti scrawled on a wall; MS of the grafitti on the doorway of a small and seemingly abandoned one story residential, apparently the home of a Cuban dissident. Cut to TLS of a run-down street in Malecon as cars and pedestrians make their way along it. MSs people talking on the street. | |
