| Description: | "ON THE AIR" WAVES A look at some ways of listening to the radio outside the home. '"On the air" waves - Radio wrinkles'. In Paris, France, we see various shots of a man wearing a straw boater with a radio set on it trying to board a tram and standing in the street, adjusting his dial to receive music. We then see a pram with a radio set attached. A baby sits in the wicker pram and listens contentedly as music issues from a trumpet directed straight at it. The nurse tunes into the appropriate station then goes off with a policeman! Looks like United States of America. Back in Paris we see a woman getting into a taxi. The driver switches on a huge radio set on the passenger seat and the woman listens through some earphones. On board the Flying Scotsman train we see a man on a radio set talking to a man in a plane flying above them. In the countryside we see a group of people get out of their cars and having a picnic on a rug beside a river. They apparently have a radio in one of the cars as one couple starts to dance. Shot taken from a ship at sea (presumably to illustrate another use of radio waves). | |
