High angle shot of a large ring in the centre of Madison Square Gardens. WS theatre in the round, w/ quite a spectacle in progress. Woman in white dances on a circle in center, while men and women in formal wear costumes are grouped around the edge. Someone in BG wearing costume w/ huge wings. Balloons are released. LS the dancer (in white leotard, white poofy tutu, white stockings, even white wig or headdress) twirls around and around on the circular dance floor and lands in a pose on one knee. WS couples in 17th century costumes parade around the circle. The women wear old fashioned crinolines. MS section of audience - middle-aged couple in front center - must be celebrities, or other theatre people. WS couple in formal wear performing dance. LS what appears to be a royal court in exotic costumes at a long table, watching the proceedings. LS a few seconds of dance by same couple seen in WS. LS same section of audience - most smiling & laughing. Back to couple dancing. M/S of part of the set - a large table laden down with food and goblets. Strangely dressed character stand behind it. More shots of the ballroom dancers and audience. WS women in long gowns who have been sitting along edge of the dance circle start to rise to join in the dance. | |
