| Description: | "Near Pilau. ... otherwise it was a complete success! Dr Winkler's 'Stratosphere Rocket' - that was meant to link the Earth & Moon - gets 21 feet on its way - explodes - and now litters the landscape for miles around!" Pilau, Germany On a beach, men prepare a small rocket (about 10 feet tall). One man stands on a ladder, one man wears a lab coat, one man wears a military of police uniform, the fourth man wears civilian clothing. CU of ladder man working on the side of the rocket, fooling with wires. Long shot of men gathered around the rocket. A small group of observers are gathered on a clip to watch. Pan down - man standing on ladder - works on the rocket. It is a fairly simple single stage affair and looks a bit like a V1. The men finalize their work on the rocket. Man hidden behind a sand dune prepares his cameras to photograph the launch. View of two men wearing German military style helmets behind a dune. They prepare their movie cameras. Long shot of the rocket. It launches, and as the title explains gets about 20 ft into the air and explodes. The wreckage comes crashing to the ground. | |
