The moment Nehru's car started to leave the aerodrome crowds broke through all the police cordons and rushed towards the car to welcome and garland him. Suddenly sections of the crowd started shouting anti-Nehru and anti-Government slogans. Some of them said march forward and kill Nehru. The police tried to rush to the scene but Nehru said over microphone that they should let the people handle it themselves. Calcutta, India. MS.
