Reel contains: 1: Barbecue (BBQ) in a south-side Chicago backyard, 1957. Good fun 1950s Americana, with dad at the grill, etc. and a few shots of 1955 Chevies. (Autos)` 2: Birthday Party, indoors. OK exposure. First a bunch of adults (extended family?) chat in the living room, then sit down for a nice meal in the dining room - this could pass for a holiday dinner, maybe Easter. Then shots of the gifts and a woman (birthday girl?) reading a card. 3: Nuns in Ireland: slightly underexposed footage of nuns (in fun habits) milling around in front of a large stone building, with some children. Good shot of one kid running right at the camera. 4: Little girl and family sit around indoors; man tries to get toddler girl to wave for the camera. [This looks like Mary Pat, who's featured in other reels as well.] 5: Footage of suburban family (lots of girls in this family) posing outside their house (autumn.) Apparently it's a chilly, windy day; they go back inside and come out again with coats. 6: Inside, very little girl (Mary Pat) sits on the floor with some wooden alphabet blocks while relatives try to get her to do things for the camera. | |
