| Description: | PEACE PAGEANT - really a War pageant - children; soldiers; put on a WWI reenactment -sort of a war "medley" on a grand scale. United Kingdom Pan on bunch of kids in costumes & uniforms of various nations. Then 5 of these pose w/ large flags - USA & Belgium. GV open area in park; w/ spectators in bleachers in BG; pan left on crowd. 2 girls in angel costumes walk toward each other in front of a huge screen; wave wands; screen comes down. Cut to elaborate tableau representing the nations of the world. Teenage boy cadets - Army & Navy - march back & forth past tableau; curtain rises again. 4 guys in medieval costumes blow horns; walk toward camera. Crowd in park waving in front of huge set piece; model of troop ship. "Troops" march past; w/ girls; small kids walking along. Departure; crowd waving as "soldiers" board ship. Curtain up. Mock battle montage: Soldiers (real ones) charge; run across park; in BG smoke bombs. Cavalry gallop to left. Soldiers in kilts run & drop to ground. 3 men lift "wounded" soldier onto stretcher. Soldier rescues a wounded comrade; in BG painted scenery of ruins; etc. at the front (w/ kids peeking through opening in canvas!) Next; Navy officers walk past some sailors. Refugee scene in pageant - priest carries little girl past ruins; more girls follow; clinging to each other & "crying". | |
