| Description: | World War One - armistice. King's representative (?) reads aloud a Peace Proclamation. England; ceremony. Opens w/ Lord Mayor and his gang all in full ceremonial medieval costumes; walking out into street and standing in row. Next a procession of open coaches come up street.; crowds on side of street; foggy day. CU a rather elderly man in another elaborate costume; with royal symbols standing up in a coach. Then some shots that jump around quickly - back view of one of these same guys mounting a horse. Cool shot! Front view of 3 horses; with men on them playing a fanfare on trumpets!!! announcing royal proclamation. Then back to the shot of the guy standing up in the carriage; he is now holding up a paper and reading aloud from it. As he finishes the announcement; he takes his jaunty dark big beret sort of hat off. CU same. Then he turns and sits. Lord Mayor etc. standing on street. Tradition. Pomp; grandeur; ritual; royalty | |
