| Description: | "Perhaps!: A Little Fashion Fantasy": animated film about the influence on fashion of the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb. Newspaper article titled "Egyptian Find Influences Fashion" w/ a drawing of a woman in ancient Egyptian clothing and in a posture like people in Egyptian carvings. Animation follows: 1920s fashionable young woman w/ bobbed hair stands in front of mirror, looking at the story torn from paper. She watches herself in the mirror posing in a similar Egyptian position. Next, she pours generous amount of hair tonic on her head, causing her short hair to grow instantly to past her shoulders. She tightens belt around her waist. Then she picks up a face powder container that hangs on a string, powders her nose w/ powder puff, then ties the thing on top of her head like an Egyptian crown, takes off her sleeves and kicks off her shoes, and walks off "Egyptian style". The shoes follow, walking by themselves. (Follwing shots are probably out of order). CU inside circle Racist caricature of a black elevator operator in uniform. He bows low to the ground before the Egyptian "queen". She gets into elevator and he follows. Elevator operator in uniform jumping back in shock as the woman in Egyptian costume approaches. He turns into ancient Egyptian slave in loincloth and w/ his hat turned into a sort of Egyptian headdress. | |
