LS women workers - in long skirts, bonnets, shawls - picking flowers on hillside; old city of low buildings in BG. Looks like southern European location. MS one of these women picking flowers. Here can see her clothing better. She wears lace bonnet, skirt and shawl of 2 different striped patterns, a wide-brimmed flat hat hanging at her side; she puts the flowers into apron which is folded and tied up into a sort of bag. Pan on huge pile of "millions of petals" in warehouse. Extracting essence in factory. MS elderly male worker hands sack to a younger man who dumps petals out into a big vat. Then he hands him a metal disc - to be put in on top of the petals? Then another sack is handed up and petals dumped in. First man pulls rope which shuts lid on vat. Interesting shot looking down corridor in factory, between rows of shiny metal containers, workers at opposite end. Back to MS the 2 workers at vat with; lid now open, steam coming out. Worker attaches chain with pulley to something inside the vat. Both workers pull on rope to hoist a stack of discs with crushed petals between them out of the vat. CU machine filling tray of bottles: a row of 6 pumps like syringes lowers onto rows of 6 bottles, squirting liquid into them. Great shot panning on factory floor with much activity; many women workers operating filling machines, moving trays about, etc. Big vats in BG, trays moving up and down slanted conveyor belts. LS a tray is sent from conveyor belt to make "U-Turn" on track of rollers, coming to another conveyor belt where woman worker awaits. MCU young woman worker on assembly line, sealing bottles, similar size and shape of Bordeaux bottles. Small boxes moving along a long conveyor belt through long corridor; according to title these may be perfumes already in packages. MLS this conveyor belt coming through another section of factory/warehouse. Women are grabbing the boxes off the belt and stacking them on shelves. | |
